Hi, I'm Albina, and I am currently a TA in Biological Sciences and Human Anatomy at Long Island University. I am fulfilling my required office hours and looking to tutor students that have a difficult time with these subjects.Since Biology and Anatomy can be very intimidating subjects to learn, I break down complicated issues into more understandable terms for my students. I believe that the student needs to focus on understanding the subject, rather than just trying to get through it to earn a passing grade. I often see students just trying to memorize the terminology or theory, rather than understanding what the term or theory is; this leads to more problems in their future studies. Chances are, a student is going to encounter a higher level of the course in their education at some point, so it is beneficial to take the time now to learn the information. I do my best to explain things in a way that sheds new light on the subject; I offer explanations that make sense.In my spare time I enjoy fencing, whitewater rafting, traveling and watching hockey.
